About us

Our Ethics

We are a young professional family of three, and we are passionate about leading a healthy, sustainable and plastic free lifestyle.

Art of Zero Living is currently the only refill shop of high-quality, sustainable, organic food and non-food products in the historic Greenwich area. It supports the Government’s plan for the green industrial revolution – creating new jobs and making our nation cleaner and greener.

We want to set an example of a successful sustainable business model that will encourage the local community to reduce waste, and help Greenwich become greener.

How it all started

Our top priority is to cut down on unnecessary single use plastic packaging and reduce our carbon footprint following zero-to-landfill practices.

We buy our products in bulk quantities, in either reusable, recyclable or returnable packaging. We prioritise UK and local suppliers. We are happy that some products arrive in electric vehicles or cargo bikes.

Local businesses are accountable to local people. When you buy a product at a local business, your money is more likely to be circled back into the local economy, through employment opportunities and donations to local causes. Buying locally is good for the environment, as products and customers travel less to get to the store.

Our customers play a big role in our impact. With our refill shop, we want to show you the simple ways that you can reduce waste and make sustainable buying choices anywhere you choose to shop. Even with small changes, you have the power to make a huge difference to our environment over the course of your lifetime. And who knows how many people you will inspire along the way!

From awareness to action

After living in Greenwich for seven years, we realised that we needed a local store that meets our ethical beliefs. This is why we created Art of Zero Living. We focus on operating using the principles of the circular economy which means that we reuse and recycle our materials, sending the least possible waste to landfill. As a retailer, we prioritise trusted local suppliers and work closely with them to reduce our carbon footprint.

Why is our logo a whale?

Our oceans are very polluted. The whale is the biggest animal on the planet, threatened by extinction due to irregular human activities that are changing its environment. For its strength and greatness, we have chosen a whale to represent our brand.

We collaborate with ocean-loving photographer and conservationist Christian Miller, whose stunning images you can see on our site and socials.
